Globe Metales - Ultracore is made up four integrated companies dedicated to processing and producing wire technology ferroalloys.

 

The group Globe Metales began with Stein Ferroaleaciones. This company started operating in 1965, primarily to meet the foundry industry's need for chemical products. In 1973, and owing to an increased demand for ferroalloys by the steel industry, the company set up its first plant in the Petrochemical.

In 1985, Stein Ferroaleaciones set up its second plant in Villa Mercedes Province of San Luis, dedicated to producing cored wire ferroalloys supplied by Luján de Cuyo.

 

Currently, and thanks to innovations and continuous investment in new technologies, the company has expanded the range of its products to cover the iron and steel industry's need for special ferroalloys as well.

 

We have business premises located in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Police (Poland).

 

In 2005, Prodrut, in Gliwice, Poland was acquired. Prodrut produces cored wire and feeding machines and is widely experienced in the Polish and European markets.

 

This incorporation in one more step towards positioning the company as an international integrated ferroalloy producer.

 

In May 2006, the Group's second cored wire plant in Poland Ultracore Polska - opened in Police.

 

In Novemeber 2006, Globe Specialty Metals acquired Stein Ferroaleaciones, chaging its name to Globe Metales. Globe Specialty Metals is among the world's largest producers of silicon metal and silicon-based specialty alloys, critical ingredients in a host of industrial and consumer products with growing markets.

 

Because of their strategic location, the two Amercan plants, together with the two European plants, allow the Group to offer its customers quality products, quick delivery times and immediate technical assistance by highly specialized professionals.
